Cabin Crawl on 3rd Sea Day

Getaway Transatlantic Day 4, At Sea
May 3, 2017

That cup of coffee last night kept us awake until very late. I was the only one who got up early this morning so I just went up to the buffet and got myself a plate of food and enjoyed it in our cabin. Someone was teaching Tai Chi at the theater but it seemed that it was a modified kind of exercise, not the real routine so I decided not to stay.

My breakfast on the balcony.

As they were both still sleeping, I went around the ship a little, taking photos. It was early enough so the ship looked nice and quiet.

Inside O'Sheehan's the 24-hour restaurant.

Shanghai's Noodle started serving at 12:00. We were 3rd in line when we went there at 11:30. This is a popular complimentary restaurant. Limited menu but not bad really. Self-ordering forms right in front of your seat and the waiter will collect the ticket and bring food that you ordered.

Open-kitchen at Shanghai's

Fried dumplings

Egg Rolls, very good. Hot and crispy. This is one order.

Har Gaw-shrimp dumplings. Meh.

Shrimp fried rice, not bad.

BBQ pork noodle, OK.

Chicken noodle.

Singapore noodle, the best! I was impressed.

Dessert--five-spice chocolate cake.

Another dessert--Panda salad. Good!

Cabin Crawl
We were able to make more bookings for specialty dining after lunch. Not the best time that we wanted but we made them work because there was no choice. They made me feel that they were doing us a favor to fit us in, which was not a very pleasant experience.

We signed up for the cabin crawl on the roll-call and we joined the 3:00 group. They kept the groups small enough so we won't cause problems for other cruisers. It was very well organized and we were able to see about eight different cabin types.

This is a huge accessible aft balcony.

This would be the cabin category for us to bid for but we decided not to after all. The one-bedroom forward facing haven suite.

Dinner was at Tropicana again and we requested for Nelson at table #129 when we arrived at 5:15. We were told that he doesn't start until 5:30 which we said was fine. We just sat and waited and he showed up promptly at 5:30.

Our bottle of sparkling wine to share.

I wanted to try the Nutella Creme Brulee, wrong choice.

Dinner took close to two hours tonight. We decided not to ask for tea or coffee after dinner to give them less trouble and went up to the buffet for some tea afterward.

Tonight we have to set the clock an hour forward again. The sea condition had been quite good in the last few days until tonight. A little more rocky since dinner but still OK.
