Seaport Village, San Diego

Seaport Village, San Diego
September 11, 2018

This is going to be a very short post. We had an opportunity to drive down to San Diego for a Pastors Conference this week. Out of the busy scheduled, we were able to take a couple of hours during free-time on one afternoon to explore a little of San Diego. Without being on a cruise, we thought it would be nice just to stroll along the seaside and enjoy a little ocean breeze, pretending we are on a 'port' day. It turned out to be a relaxing and refreshing walk.

From the hotel on Hotel Circle in Mission Valley, it was just a 20-minute drive on local streets to get to Seaport Village. Knowing that there are many one-way streets near the downtown area, we intentionally avoided all the freeways for a relaxing drive down Pacific Highway. At the southern end of Pacific Highway, we found the parking lot with meters and timed for a one-hour visit.

It is just walking distance from the cruise port here. Between the Cruise port in San Diego and Seaport Village, is the USS Midway museum which we did not have time to visit on this short trip.

It was not busy at all on this late afternoon on a Tuesday. There was no cruise ship in port but visitors from far and near were able to enjoy this serene and beautiful seaside village with perfect weather. I did not bring my camera with me and did not think about taking pictures with my phone until later on our walk. Then I suddenly realized that I should after seeing how beautiful this place is.

A tour bus/boat picking up passengers at the village.

Many shady spots with benches for a short rest.

Across the bay is Coronado Island.

The beautiful pond.

There are gift shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, toy stores, etc. right here in the village near downtown San Diego where visitors can spend a few relaxing hours.
