Florence-Pisa-Florence

Our plan for the day was to take the train to Pisa for a brief visit. Breakfast at this hotel was fine and the cappuccino was excellent. Here we were waiting at the hotel lobby for everyone to get ready for the trip.

Then we walked from the hotel to the train station.
Passing by the pizzale where we had lunch the day before.

Arriving the train station at Pisa after an hour. It was Sunday and a lot of people were heading towards Livorno for a day at the beach. The train was crowded but we managed to get seats for all of us.

We decided to walk the 1.5km from the train station to Pisa tower. It was actually a pretty nice walk.

Finally!

Just had to do it!

We bought some sandwiches and drinks and had a nice picnic on the lawn with many others.

We then walked back to the train station under the hot sun. It was like 35 degrees and very hot. We took the 1:30 train back to Florence.

We tried to walk around a little bit but it got too hot.

Better go back to our hotel for a little siesta.

We could see the roof of the Duomo from our room.

We left the hotel for a walk at around 6pm. Everything was close by and walkable.

World's Cup final, people were in party mood.

We then crossed the bridge to the other side of the river.

Then we went back to the same restaurant for dinner. We booked a later time but they were able to seat us because there were not that many customers that evening. Everybody was staying in watching the soccer game.

Exterior of the restaurant. Excellent food and service.

Tomorrow we will go to Rome.
