Jade Pics and Day at Sea

Photos of NCL Jade on Turnaround Day -- February 25, 2015

Sharing some photos of Jade that I took on turnaround day when we were in Civitevecchia. There were very few people on board before noon and it was a good opportunity to walk around taking pictures of the quiet ship.

A Day at Sea -- February 26, 2015

We had two sea days on this Eastern Mediterranean itinerary, one at the very beginning of the cruise and the other one at the end before our stop in Naples. This was a day for us to adjust to the cruise minus our family members who left us the day before.

After breakfast, we went up to Spinnakers to watch our ship passing by the volcanic island of Stromboli.

It was not as spectacular as the last time we passed by it in 2012 on the MSC Splendida which was in the evening when we actually saw flames shooting up. The smoke from the active volcano was still be seen clearly.

There was a napkin folding class going on in Spinnaker after Stromboli so I joined in and learned a few tricks. Instead of just watching, it was a hands-on session so we were able to practice right there.
Here are just a few examples of what was taught that morning.

Then it was time for the Meet and Greet in Le Bistro. I got to just go and enjoy meeting everyone this time around because I was not the group leader any more. Archie, the cruise director, and several other officers attended.

About 40 Cruise Critic members showed up.

Steve, the leader!

Right before lunch, we passed through the Messina Straight.

The island of Sicily.

Lunch at Cagneys but this time I tried out their sesame crust fish burger. Yummy!

After a relaxing afternoon napping in our cabin we attended the Latitude cocktail in Spinnaker.

After the Latitude cocktail, we decided to have dinner at the buffet because of the repeated menu in the main dining room. The buffet was not busy at all in the evening and the food was OK.

OK, this little guy took over our bed that night.
