Relaxing 2nd Sea Day

Getaway Transatlantic Day 3, At Sea
May 2, 2017

We missed breakfast again this morning because we all got up late. Morning was spent getting information about the dining package that we needed to purchase for ChC. We had the Free At Sea Ultimate Dining Package but ChC did not because he was the third person in the cabin. We finally got him the 3-dinner package which cost $93. It's worth it to have the package if you like to try out the specialty restaurants. The problem was getting reservations, especially at Le Bistro. I don't know how someone on a 7-day cruise can get reservation when we had problems even on a 16-day cruise.

The sea was surprisingly calm, actually throughout this Atlantic crossing.

Lunch was at the Lido again. We usually like to have lunch at the buffet for the variety. Getaway served some kind of roasted chicken everyday and they are usually very good. It could be five-spice, soy base, Indian, or whatever but they were always good, moist, tender and delicious. I probably had the roasted chicken everyday plus a bowl of salad which made it a good, healthy lunch that lasted til dinner time. Food on both sides are basically the same but check the section between the counters at the front of the line. They sometimes have special items there that are not on the main counters. I must compliment on Getaway for the food they served, better than most other NCL ships we experienced.

Afternoon was just chilling out in our cabin again. With so many passengers on board, I did not feel like going around bumping into people everywhere. There are not that many public places that provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere on the Getaway. Our cabin was actually the 'getaway' place for us from the crowds.

Dinner was at 5:30 again in Tropicana, table 129 with Nelson. He had a different assistant this time but we still had an enjoyable meal there.

Beef Slider and Smoked Salmon Tartare are on the menu everyday.

French Onion Soup and Classic Caesar Salad are also on the menu daily.

Everyday items

Bouillabaisse Soup

Shrimp Ceviche

Spring Roll

This could have been the Chicken Cordon Bleu that I had.

Pan fried flounder fillet for MOR. He really liked this and ordered it multiple times on this cruise.

My Banana Split

After dinner, we went to guests services and got a new key card for ChC now that he has the dining package. Then we walked around the ship a little up on the sun decks 15 and 16 which we haven't been so far. It was very quiet at this time of the day, nice!

The huge water slides.

The tiny swimming pool.

Another plate of goodies.

We bumped into a woman while we were getting back to our cabin who suggested that we go to the Burn the Floor show at 10. She was very excited about it but since we did not have reservations we decided to just go back to our cozy cabin for the night and enjoyed this plate of goodies with a cup of coffee before going to bed.
