Rail: Fairbanks to Denali

Early the next morning, we boarded our bus to the train station in Fairbanks. There was a Princess car but we were assigned to the one in front of it. I heard that the Princess train have seats like in some restaurants, with a table between seats. Some people may have to sit facing backward. Our seats were all forward facing which made it very nice and you won't have to look at faces of your table mates. The train ride from Fairbanks to Denali took about four hours (119miles) and the views magnificent!

A quick picture of the depot in Fairbanks.

As for breakfast, whoever wants to eat at the dining car would sign up when boarded. Then they will let you know when it's time for you to go down to the dining car to eat. Breakfast is a for purchase either from the dining car or the snack bar. We decided to eat in the dining room for the experience.

For the long train ride, I plugged my own earphone to the armrest. Just like being on the airplane, there are different stations for different kind of music to enjoy.

We were told that there's no dump sites in Alaska, so people would just leave their unwanted items in their own back yard.
