On board the NCL Gem in Venice

Our pre-cruise land travel was over and it was time for us to board the NCL Gem. We have a back-to-back itinerary booked on this ship which last for two weeks. It just happened that my niece Ines and her husband Jonny accidentally booked the first part of the cruise also for their honeymoon. We just attended their wedding in Seattle before flying to Frankfurt. When we got to the port in Venice, they were already there waiting for us. Checking in was fine and we got to enjoy a nice sit down lunch at the restaurant. We did not want to hassle with the buffet after all and a quiet lunch was what we wanted even though the crew tried to direct everyone to the buffet. We knew that NCL always open one of their restaurants on embarkation day for lunch but not many people knew about it.

After a comfortable muster drill in the show room in the late afternoon, we were ready for sail away. Sailing out of Venice is most amazing!
