Air China TPE to PEK in Business

Taipei to Beijing on Air China A330 (4/23/2013)

It was time for us to head over to Yunnan, China for the tour. This morning we checked out of our hotel and took the airport bus from the main station in Taipei directly to terminal 2. It was easier and cost less than taking the high speed train. After checking in and through immigration we found the Star Alliance Lounge which was very quiet at that hour. Our plane was to leave at 1:00pm.

We arrived Beijing International at around 4:30pm and had to claim our luggage, went through security and re-check our bags for our 9:10 flight to Kunming. Security was quite thorough here.
Our flights between Beijing and Kunming did not have mileage redemption for business, so we had to take economy on these three-hour flights. It was not easy to have such long layover without loung access, not fun. The food offerings at the airport did not appeal to us, so I just bought a sandwich from the coffee shop to hold me over. MOR went and got some ramen and Christian just didn't want anything.

By the time we arrived Kunming it was around 1:00am. Fortunately, the driver was already waiting for us and we checked into the hotel a little after 2:00am.
By the way, the sandwich that they served on this Air China flight was the worst that I have ever had. It was totally inedible with a strange type of bread and weird taste. No matter, we were ready for our adventure in Yunnan.
