LAX Appreciation Day

(Taking a little detour from my China Trip Report.)

The media have been bragging about the LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal in the last couple of days and fortunately we got tickets to the preview and saw it with our own eyes today.

This terminal was in serious need of upgrade and renovation. It's really a shame that Los Angeles meets its guests from all over the world with this run-down and tired looking terminal. With the bulk of money spent on this project, I was hoping for the best.

Once inside this area, we were on our own to explore. Apparently, this area is not opened for the public yet.

Collecting all seven stamps at different stations will get you a raffle ticket.

After an hour and a half of touring this new terminal, I have to say that this is certainly much better than the old terminal. A job well done!

By the way, I got lucky this time and won the raffle for one of the baskets.

As we were walking back to our car in the parking lot, somebody wanted to buy this basket from me for $5, are you kidding me? Everything in this basket has the official LAX name imprinted on it. Nothing of value but definitely special!
