Wine Country Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess Day 2, Catalina Island -- February 26, 2015
We have been on this island a few times and the last time was in January when we were on Carnival Inspiration. We enjoy just walking around Avalon, checking out the stores and stroll along the waterfront for a couple of hours before getting back on the ship. It can be a relaxing day especially when the weather is nice.
Princess did a good job providing port guide at each port.
This was the only tender port that we had on this itinerary.
We like to start early and it was still very quiet when we reached Avalon.
We took a tour of the casino last year and totally enjoyed it.
Entrance to the Casino
Beautiful Descanso Beach
You can even do some shopping behind the beach.
Scuba diving near the Casino
After a couple of hours we were ready to get back on the ship.
A long line of people trying to get on the tenders...
...as many more getting off.
Lunch in the main dining room
fried calamari
skillet-fried sole
After lunch, we just relaxed in the cabin.
Since we were having late seating for dinner, I went to International Cafe and got a plate of their shrimp salad to hold me through the afternoon. It was very good!
First formal night on this cruise and we had the 50th Anniversary menu.
Now, this beef dish was excellent!
This dessert was especially impressive.
