2010 Trip to Europe--Seattle to Lake Constance, Germany

I will be posting another batch of older pictures. This will record our travel to Europe in 2010 when we took a 2-week cruise in the Mediterranean on the NCL Gem. We did a land tour on our own from Frankfurt, Germany to Venice pre-cruise and then a few days of travel from Venice to Rome post cruise. A memorable trip full of fun and discoveries, especially traveling with families--JC, CeC, CaC,  and with Ines and Jonny on part of the trip.

Summer of 2010, we went to Seattle to attend the wedding of Ines and Jonny. After the wedding we were ready for our trip.

Here, we were waiting to board our plane to Frankfurt at SEA/TAC airport.
We were flying out from Seattle after the wedding to meet JC and CeC in Frankfurt. They flew from Hong Kong to Frankfurt and missed Jonny and Ines' wedding.

This was our very first trip to Europe
JC and CC were already waiting for us at the Frankfurt Airport with the rental van all ready to go. We then drove to downtown Frankfurt for a brief walk. We parked our car right across from the museum and then walked around town for a little bit.

Feeding the parking meter.

Our rental van, big and comfortable for the six of us. We had this van from Frankfurt on and returned it in Venice before we boarded the Gem.

Buildings with interesting fascade.

After Frankfurt, we drove to the Porsche-Museum in Stuttgart, an important destination for JC. We enjoyed a nice lunch at the museum before exploring the facility.

I am not into cars but this museum was interesting enough even for me.

Such a huge space with all these 'toys'.

It was an interesting visit indeed. After the visit we continued our drive to Lake Constance where we planned on spending the night.

The town of Lake Constance. After checking in to the hotel we walked around to find a place for dinner. The whole town was pretty quiet because most people were staying inside to watch the soccer game for the World's Cup. Germany was on that night.

It is certainly a beautiful place!

So quiet!

We found a restaurant which was pretty empty.

Yummy salad

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner.

Beautiful Lake Constance
