Sea Day Sailing Toward Myanmar

Sea Day Between Phuket and Thilawa -- February 20, 2016
2016 HAL Volendam Asian Adventure, Day 5
Weather: Gentle breeze, clear, 28C/82F

As Captain James Russell-Dunford sailed the ship 545 miles from Phuket, Thailand to Thilawa, Myanmar we got to enjoy another relaxing day at sea. I was quite surprised by the number of people at the buffet when we went up there for breakfast at around 7:30. Usually people would sleep in on sea days but seemed like it was not the norm on Volendam.

After attending the digital workshop on movie making, which was so full that I did not get to a computer, we went to the Galley Tour at 10:30.

Galley Tour started at the Rotterdam Dining Room.

Another beautiful arrangement outside Rotterdam.

We did not want to be rushed so we waited til the end of the line to join this tour.

It's always fascinating to see what's behind the scene.

Not sure what these were for.

The tour ended at Pinnacle Grill which looked so pretty.

There was a sale on Lido deck that day near the Dive In, mostly $10 items.

To avoid the crowd, we were at Lido a little earlier.

The sea was calm on this beautiful day.

Pretty good spicy salmon rolls.

Excellent burger from Dive In

I mainly attended a couple more of the Digital Workshop sessions that afternoon before the English Tea. We don't always go for afternoon teas because we have to watch our blood sugar level but this time we just wanted to experience it on the Volendam. It was self-help with refreshments set up in the King's Room. Then the waiters helped with beverages as we sat down at the table.

Looked delicious!

Deck 3 Atrium, spacious and quiet. It's almost like wasted spaces.
