Kaiping Watch Tower
After lunch, we continue our tour to Kaiping where we visited the watch towers in the village. These towers were used to protect the area from outsiders attack. For some reason, our guide was confused as to where to take us. After walking down the path into the village, he took us back to the parking lot and asked around before leading us back to the right direction.
We walked along the tiny road of the village which we shared with passing cars and bicycles under the hot sun. Good thing that I had my umbrella with me!

Sun Yat Sen Memorial/Museum
Zhongshan is the birthplace of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, founding father of modern China. It was natural that our tour included this important site in the area.
The banner outside the former residence read "Commemoration of the 148th Anniversary of the Birth of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen".

Zhongshan Huangjue Hotel
We were pleasantly surprised when checking into our room at this hotel. This is a service apartment type of hotel. Our room was huge, with two queen-size beds plus sitting area. It also came with a little kitchenette even though we had no use of it during our stay there. Everything was sparkling clean and so spacious that we felt quite at home after the long days of touring. We stayed here for two nights.
