2nd Sea Day

July 25, 2015 -- At Sea

Weather: Rainy then turned sunny in the afternoon
Temperature: 22.7C

At around midnight, the ship exited Tsugaru Kaikyo and set southerly course along the east coast of Japan. We sailed along this route throughout the day as we made our way back to Yokohoma.
I had a good night sleep and woke up feeling fresh and rested. We really did not have anything specific planned so everybody got to enjoy whatever activities they wanted that day. There were many interesting activities listed on the Patter but the main one we wanted to attend was the Culinary Show and Galley Tour. We enjoyed the one on the Crown in May and wanted to check out the galley on the Diamond also.

It was well attended and the show started off with the cruise director and the Japanese Entertainment Director who was mainly doing the interpreting for the Japanese audience.

You can see that they were having a great time doing the show.

The Head Chef and the M'atre D, a hilarious pair.

It was a lot of fun watching this show.

Sit at the back of the theater if you want to be in the front of the line on the galley tour.

Just some shots of the galley.

There were more action here than the last time probably because it was getting close to lunch time. Crew members were busy getting things ready.

Again, at the end of the tour, they had a table selling the Princess cookbook.

The galley tour lead us to the shopping stop in Santa Fe Dining Room, which we did not buy anything this time.

Then we went up to Deck 14 and checked out the Lobster Grill by the pool, which happened on sea days basically. It looked good. For $20 you get a whole big lobster with French fries and corn. We will definitely try it out on our next leg.
We then had lunch at the buffet. The soy ramen was very good, especially with the BBQ pork. I also had a hamburger which was also delicious.

It's packing day for many people but for us it was just a day to totally relax and not have to worry about anything. They did not have a session for turnaround passengers like NCL did, but they sent an information sheet to the cabin explaining what the procedure is for us who are not disembarking. We were given an "in transit" card to get on and off the ship so we did not have to go through immigration and custom. The problem was they only gave us three cards instead of four so I had to go to Guest Services to get another one.

Watched a few episodes of the old "Love Boat" on TV and rested in the cabin most of the afternoon.

Being on the starboard side we were able to enjoy this beautiful sunset.
Talk about starboard side, throughout this cruise I thought we were lucky that our cabins were on the starboard side. At most ports the starboard side actually was the side that was docked along the pier. We were able to see all the actions near the docks at each port.

Our waiter, Ketut. This was his last day on the ship also. He was so excited about going back home to Indonesia the next day. Such a nice guy, very patient.
Seemed like many crew members were leaving the ship that day. We had a new captain and a new cruise director on our second leg.

Baked Alaska parade--couldn't get a good picture.
