Family Reunion Cruise -- 8-Day Roundtrip Keelung, Taiwan on Diamond Princess
Post-cruise -- Keelung and Taipei, November 26, 2018
Back at Keelung port after our 8-day cruise with family members in Taiwan on Diamond Princess. What an incredible journey! Traveling with families is always memorable and fun. We take every opportunity to spend time with our family members whenever we can as we travel to the different parts of the world. It is not easy to find the itinerary that would fit into everyone's schedule so we really treasure every moment that comes our way.
Sailing into Keelung harbor.
A familiar sight by now.
Tour buses already waiting at the terminal.
After seeing our family got on the tour bus that would take them back to southern Taiwan, we went to the front of the terminal to meet our friend, Elder Chuang, who insisted on coming to pick us up and take us to Taipei. Elder Chuang lived in the US and taught at the seminary in California. He also worked closely with MOR before he retired and moved back to Taiwan. It was wonderful to see that he is doing well and remains active serving God.
Our car passing by the cruise terminal again.
Elder Chuang wanted to purchase the famous 'pineapple cakes' from this bakery for us to take back to the US. They were absolutely wonderful!
We were then taken to a little town called Nuannuan, a little southeast of Keelung, where we visited the Discipleship Training School (Seminary) there. This Discipleship Training School was founded by Elder Wu Yung many years ago.
Entrance to the building of the discipleship training school.
Meeting the principal and staff.
Elder Wu Yung's picture and mission of the training school posted on the wall.
Beautiful surroundings.
Right next to the Keelung River that runs all the way to the city of Taipei.

Elder Chuang had donated all the artifacts and collectibles that he had acquired on his ten plus visits to the Holy Land throughout the years to the seminary.
They are very well kept in the display here.
A God-loving scholar and servant.

After the visit, we drove back to Keelung port
where Diamond Princess was docked.
Elder Chuang took us to the Evergreen Laurel Hotel for a buffet lunch.
Where we could enjoy a great lunch and wonderful views of the city.
Perfect view of the harbor.
Placemats with a good map of the city.
Closing time as we were leaving the restaurant.
Colorful but strange!
Ocean theme decorations at the hotel lobby.
We were then taken to Taipei in the afternoon to Grace Home, our temporary home for the next three nights. The staff at Grace Home were already waiting for us by the door when Elder Chuang dropped us off. After resting a bit, Mr. and Mrs. Shih, our long time friends, came to take us out for dinner at the Ming Yueh Steamed Buns restaurant. (明月湯包No. 162-4, Section 2, Jilong Road, Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan) As I mentioned previously, this place is similar to Ding Tai Fung but cheaper.
A few cold dishes.
Chicken soup
Wonderful fried and steamed dumplings to end our day!
