First Day at Sea after Seattle on Encore

Day at Sea - September 19, 2021 (Sunday)

We don't usually mind sea days because we can take the opportunity to relax and enjoy whatever is available on the ship. No rush to go anywhere and no schedule to follow. As for us, doing nothing in particular, just eat, sleep, and relax was the plan.

It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day!

After a good breakfast at the buffet, we walked around the ship for a little bit. With the excellent weather and calm sea, it was good to enjoy a rain-free day on the open deck. This is a huge ship with plenty of activities available for all ages, both indoor and outdoor. We are not active people at our age, but it's always nice to see what others are doing.

From Deck 17 going up to 18 for the Speedway.
The spiral stairs are for the water slide that hangs over the side of the ship.

Speedway

This could very well be the most popular activity on board the Encore. Not for us old folks but I am sure young people would enjoy a couple of rounds on the track. I believe it cost $15 per ride and they also have a package deal for the duration of the cruise but I am not sure of the price.

There was already a line for the Go-kart Speedway.

Amazing how they managed to build such a race track on a ship!

Spectators can use the blasters to boost points for the drivers.

Let's go!

Looks like fun!

Laser Tag
Probably because of the weather and the wet surroundings, we never saw anyone playing that game while we were out there. Sounds like a fun and interesting activity!

Observation Lounge
This is a favorite spot of mine on the ship. This whole section that wraps around the front of the ship on Deck 15 has floor to ceiling windows that give a spectacular view of the sea. There are plenty of chairs and sofas spread out and they also provide light meal and snacks there during the day. A great place to just relax and enjoy the scenery passing by.

What a view!

A quieter part of Observation Lounge where we usually enjoyed our time.

Ahh....!

Looking down to the Observation Lounge from Garden Cafe on Deck 16.
Most cruise ships have their buffet restaurants at the back of the ship but Encore had it in the front.

Garden Cafe right above Observation Lounge.

Serving a whole roasted pig at lunch today.

Sweet!

Rainbow back on our balcony.

Husband had a non-COVID medical emergency that we had to visit the Medical Center a few times on this trip. Very surprised that they were able to attend to his problem with a wonderful staff of professionals.

Next up will be our first port of Icy Straight Point.

"Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. Then the Lord's anger will burn against you, and he will shut the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce and you will soon perish from the good land the Lord is giving you."
