NCL Spirit Tokyo to Keelung -- November 2 to 15, 2025
Embarkation Day at Tokyo Bay International Cruise Terminal, November 2, 2025 (Sunday)
It's time! Today we board the NCL Spirit at Tokyo Bay.
I got up early in the morning and had time to walk around the area near the hotel in Ariake, checking out the sights nearby before leaving the hotel for the ship.
The wide open walkway right outside the hotel. This scenic walkway can lead to the cruise terminal, a 30-minute walk. I was going to do that but after considering the luggage we had and the age of our group members, I had to discard that idea.
Our hotel on the middle left.
A university campus nearby.
This will lead to the cruise terminal.
Seems to be an easy walk with views.
But for us, we walked the 4 minutes to the tram station, taking the Yurikamome Line for 3 stops to the cruise terminal. It was an easy ride with not that many passengers even though there was an event in the area that weekend.
After we got off the tram, it was about a 10-minute walk to the actual cruise terminal. Suggestion for those with mobility issues, may want to take a taxi from the hotel instead. For us, it was OK.
First group picture with half of our group. These are members who flew from Taiwan with us to meet the ship. We stayed at the hotel that I've booked and were faithful travel partners throughout this trip.
Yay! We are here!
Boarding the ship was easy. There were not that many people there at the time and check-in was quick and painless. Even though we had different boarding time scheduled, they checked us all in at the same time. Making this one of the easiest boarding process for us.
Walking on the gangway is always exciting!
First thing first, lunch! We were too early for lunch at the MDR, so we settled for the buffet, which was fine.
After lunch, we had to wait for our cabins to be ready so we parked ourselves at the Spinnaker Lounge for some relaxation. An excellent spot to see the surrounding area.

We then walked around a little and found the spa/gym.
Not huge, but have the basic equipment.
Then, they announced that the cabins are ready. Our balcony cabin on deck 9 was updated and nicely decorated. Comfortable for the two of us.
Loved the glass door in the bathroom.
Not much on TV available.
We had a connected cabin but it did not bother us throughout the trip. We had very quiet neighbors.
It was definitely nice to have a tea kettle in the cabin.
At 3:00, we held the first group meeting to meet all our group members, helped everyone to use the WiFi minutes available to us, and gave important information about our tours.
For dinner, our travel agent was able to make reservations for the whole group of 45 to have dinner at the same time, same tables every night. Making it much more convenient for us so we did not have to wait in line and be separated at dinner.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
