Day 4
Our hotel in Zhanjiajie--not a bad accommodation, modern and sleek.
Stairways in the Hotel Lobby
Our tour buses already waiting for us.
Huangxicai, one of the most important parts of Zhangjiajie National Park. Our tour guide was giving instructions and tickets to all of us before entering the park.
It would have been amazing if the sun was out.
Very crowded. We bumped into someone we know while walking past so many tourists. He was also from the L.A. area. Before we even got back home, the news that we were in Zhangjiajie was already made known.
Unfortunately, the weather didn't help on this trip.
We took the cable car up to the mountain.
We just have to come back one of these days. We were told that there's really no telling of when is a good time to visit Zhangjiajie. Weather is just unpredictable and we thought we picked the best season to be here.
Even with weather like this you can still see how beautiful this is.
"How Great Thou Art"!
And I always thought that Chinese brush paintings were so unrealistic. Little did I know.
After coming back down we all had to stop for some photo opportunities.
Absolutely amazing!
"Most Amazing Mountains in the World"
Then we drove to another site--"King of the Dragon Cavern"
Finally, we came to this fine hotel--the Samantha Resort. We will spend two nights here. We are still in Zhangjiaje but at a different part of the park. This resort is nicely situated up on a hill. There is a small courtyard outside the glass door. It was convenient for me to use it to dry my soaking wet pair of shoes.
A tub is strangely placed in the sitting room. I suppose if someone wants to take a bath while admiring the scenery, they could.
Our room came with a huge bathroom. The design was interesting though.
