First Sea Day on the Atlantic and Pictures of Divina

2019 Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Divina
Day 9 MSC Divina - At Sea -- November 14, 2019

Our first sea day on the Atlantic Ocean before reaching Barbados on November 19. We scheduled to meet for breakfast at 7:30 but we got up a little early so we went around the ship and got our cups of coffee before heading over to Black Crab for breakfast.

Early morning on the Atlantic, pretty calm sea.

The very quiet atrium.

Perfect breakfast with excellent service and nicely done food served.
This was the only time I had some hot crispy waffles on the ship.

Pantheon Theater

Casino Veneziano

One of the elevator banks.

Golden Jazz Bar

La Cantina de Bocco

Butcher's Cut Steak House

Black and White Lounge

We always checked the menu posted near the door of the main restaurants to decide if we would have lunch there or at the buffet. Seemed like an OK menu today.

Baby Shrimp Cocktail

Venetian Pasta and Bean Soup

Oven Roasted Pork Leg

Tried watching one of the 12 movies provided free of charge while sailing on the Atlantic due to bad TV reception. Something went wrong as I was watching War Room and it was disconnected. Not much else to do other than getting coffee from the cafe and stopping by the shop and had a nice chat with the crew there.

Roast Beef wrap with Asparagus

Mussels sauteed with garlic and black pepper

Seafood Gumbo

Steak au Poivre - Striploin in green peppercorn sauce
Finally, a good piece of steak served in the dining room. We wondered if they had gotten a new batch of meat supplies in Ponta Delgada.

Tilapia Filet

Brownie Stack with Vanilla Ice Cream

Coconut Rice Puding

Good dining to end our first relaxing sea day. Four more sea days to go before we will see land again!

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."   -- Galatians 5:1

  1. Rebecca! I'm back. HAL cancelled all cruises out of the US. Good settlement offer of 100% cash back and 100% FCC of base fare. I am now going to live off your excellent blog posts, especially the food photos.
Enjoying seeing all the areas on this ship. Very nice and comfortable for the most part.

  2. Oh, my goodness! Well, I guess with everything that is going on, it's safer to stay home. HAL is quite generous in their compensation. Stay safe and stay healthy, Patricia!
