Sailing Past Gibraltar

2019 Transatlantic Cruises on MSC
Day 4 MSC Divina - At Sea -- November 9, 2019

Another sea day to rest our tired feet on the ship! Other than enjoying our quiet time in the cabin, we did not do too much around the ship. Generally, we get up and go for breakfast, hang around somewhere for a couple of hours to let the room stewards clean our cabin. Lunch, nap, and then get ready for dinner. Today, our ship will be sailing between Valencia and Lisbon and in between we will go past the Strait of Gibraltar in the early afternoon. This would be a wonderful chance for us to view the Rock of Gibraltar from a distance.

Breakfast pizza at the buffet.

Enjoying our lunch at the Manitou Buffet in the aft of deck 14.

In the afternoon, our ship passing by the Rock of Gibraltar.
We just stayed in our balcony throughout the passage since we were on the 'right' side of the ship.

It was cold and windy with gently rocking waves.

The Strait of Gibraltar is certainly a busy spot with plenty of ships sailing in and out of the Mediterranean.

Officially out in the Atlantic Ocean.

Drinks before dinner at the Silver Lounge Bar.

Mussels in creamy white wine sauce

Deck a l'Orange

Crepe Susette
A normal sea day with a bit of highlight. Tomorrow we should be in Lisbon, Portugal.

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for every one - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time. "    -- I Timothy 2:1~6

  1. Rebecca: Breakfast, lunch, nap, dinner -- sounds so familiar!!
Did you see any dolphins while you sailed past Gibralter? We were waiting once to dock there and floated around for over and hour with quite a show of brown dolphins all around the ship! It was a nice day and provided a great time out on the deck!

    1. Wow! How lucky! No, we did not see any dolphins. Maybe we were too far out or maybe we did not look hard enough?!
